Mighty Corp, Filipino-known manufacturer of cigarette stands firm over the malicious lies that the PMFTC spreading like wildfire. The rival company has almost 90% of market on the said industry, and Mighty emerged in the tobacco industry.
They said that there’s an anomaly over Mighty, but the authorities must investigate other manufacturer in the cigarette industry. With the lawsuits that the three federal states thrown over the company, it’s a mistaken identity. The competitors wanted to put Wongchuking-managed company pinned down in public. Where are the proofs about the allegations?
With the existence of Mighty which was founded 68 years ago, with over 3,000 workers and has confined itself to making cheap local cigarette brands for the mass market. And with complete equipments for the established t*bacco business, Mighty is having a tough competition against PMFTC. Aside from the business, MC focused on the livelihood projects that they gave to the families of their workers. Truly, they reached out to a lot of people.
According to Oscar P. Barrientos, executive vice president and spokesman of Mighty Corp., “We’re a small company. We’ve been that way since 1945. We’re very Filipino. We produced La Campanilla, Magkaibigan, La Campana, Quiapo, Ringing Bell and other local brands—all totally and truly Filipino. Our advantage is precisely that—we have no foreign brands and, therefore, [have] no royalty to remit to a foreign master [and] no expensive foreign consultants to retain. We keep our costs low and we are content with low profits. We have always faithfully paid our taxes to the government. Thus, we have had undisputed dominance of the low-end market for several decades now, because we know our place in the industry.”
Mighty Corp. wanted to create a name in the tobacco industry, not just because of the heavy rivalry with PMFTC. They believed on our country’s resources and to accommodate all foreign and local cigarette makers.
